Yes, you’re right about the money! However, even though hosting likely costs a few dollars per month, the website will be yours. It means you can move, change and delete it at any time without losing any of its functionality.

Blogger

Blogger is a Google service that is available for free. As a result, the company’s employees can use the service however they choose. Blogger could be shut down by Google, even though it’s unlikely. Your content would be of little interest to anyone if you were to do so.

Blogger lags behind the self-hosted version of WordPress by a long shot. While you can apply a large number of layouts to your free blog, the selection is limited when compared to WordPress. You can only play with a restricted number of customization tools once you’ve chosen a template. Don’t get us wrong: the Blogger customization choices are user-friendly and somewhat beneficial, but they don’t compare to WordPress.

One would expect a lot more documentation for Blogger coming from Google. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case. Although there are documentation files available, support is minimal. You can even go to support forums using your browser but don’t anticipate much.

WordPress VS Blogger: Which is Best?

WordPress VS Blogger: It should be a no-brainer to choose between the two. Even though both platforms allow you to create a personal blog easily, WordPress and Blogger are incredibly different.

While Blogger allows you to create a free blog with just a few mouse clicks, the platform is highly restrictive. 

It’s just adequate for individuals who seek a blogging experience with few options. However, with Blogger, anything beyond that is almost impossible. 

WordPress, on the other hand, is nearly endless. You can even convert your blog into an online store and personalize it with thousands of plugins and themes while maintaining complete control. 

If you’re ready to learn WordPress, I strongly advise you to start with it.
