This policy explains what personal data askmyseo collects through askmyseo.com, why, who sees it, how long we keep it and what your rights are. We've tried to write it in plain English.
askmyseo ("we", "us") is an SEO agency based at 31 Shanowen Ave, Whitehall, Dublin 9, D09 P5C7, Ireland. We are the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at support@askmyseo.com or on 01 637 7391. We deal with all privacy requests through that email address.
We don't collect special-category data and the site is not aimed at children under 16.
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| To reply to your message or question | Contact details, message | Our legitimate interest in answering enquiries; or steps you ask us to take before a contract |
| To take and fulfil your order, schedule work and deliver it | Contact, billing, onboarding, order details | Performing our contract with you |
| To issue invoices and keep accounts | Billing and order details | Legal obligation (tax and company law) |
| To handle refunds, complaints and legal claims | Order and message records | Legitimate interest, and legal obligation |
| To understand how the site is used and improve it | Analytics data | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| To keep the site secure and working | Technical data in server logs | Legitimate interest |
We don't send marketing emails. If that changes, we will ask for your consent first.
We don't sell personal data. We share it only with:
These providers act on our instructions or under their own data-protection obligations. Where a provider is outside the European Economic Area, we rely on an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are visited and how people move around the site. It’s only loaded if you accept analytics cookies in our cookie banner. Until you do, no analytics data is sent to Google. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. See the Cookie Policy for details of what is set.
When you send a message from the contact form, the site opens your own email app with your message ready to send to support@askmyseo.com. The site itself doesn't store or send the message. Your email provider then handles it as it does any email. The email we receive is stored in our mailbox.
Your cart and order details are kept in your browser's local storage so they survive a page reload. They stay on your device until you clear them or complete checkout. Card details typed into the test checkout are checked in your browser and discarded. They are never saved or sent anywhere.
Under data-protection law you can ask us to:
Email support@askmyseo.com. We'll reply within one month. We may need to confirm who you are first.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, tell us first and we'll try to put it right. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission, which supervises data protection in Ireland: dataprotection.ie.
We use HTTPS across the site, limit access to personal data to the people who need it, and choose providers with sound security practices. No system is perfectly secure. If we ever have a breach affecting you, we'll tell you and the regulator as the law requires.
We'll update this page when what we do changes, and change the date at the top. If a change matters, we'll say so on the site.
